Find the approach that feels right for you

There’s no ‘right’ way to do therapy – just the way that works for you.

Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. At Octopus Therapy, you can choose how we work together—whatever helps you feel most comfortable and get the most from our sessions.

All counselling sessions are charged at £60 for 60 minutes, and £85 for 90 minutes, so you’re free to pick what works best for you.

Some clients love the structure of coming to my counselling room in Northwich. Others need the flexibility of video calls from home – on WhatsApp, Zoom, or Teams. Some people think best with outdoor Ecotherapy. This can be sitting in the garden or walking on the Sandstone Trail or on a park bench in Delamere Forest, for example.

If you’re not sure which would suit you, we can talk it over – and if you try one and it doesn’t feel right, we can switch to something else. The goal is to make this as comfortable as possible for you.

Whether you prefer to meet in person,  online, or on the phone, research says that they can all be equally effective. Just pick the one that appeals to you – and if it turns out that you don’t like it after you try it we can try one of the others. The best way is the one that works for you.

Service Pricing

One-to-One Counselling

60-minute counselling sessions, whether in person or online or outdoors are charged at £60.

90-minute sessions are £85  

Longer sessions by arrangement

 
Ecotherapy sessions may need to include travelling time, but this would be discussed with you prior to booking.
You just choose the one that feels best for you.
Why book with me?

I specialise in working with adults, and see a maximum of five clients per day which means I can offer everyone the highest standard of therapy and can make your 1 hour sessions last a full hour.

My areas of specialisation are Anxiety,  Depression, Loss and Bereavement, Trauma and Crisis, ADHD and AS, LGBTQ+ & Identity. I also help people navigate all kinds of life transitions – career, marriage, divorce, empty nests, and sometimes when you feel lost and alone. 

How long a session should you book?

Most clients choose one hour sessions. This gives enough time to explore  issues that are on your mind – or which come up whilst we are talking.

Some clients are in full flow when the hour is up and we have to stop and try to pick up the threads in the next session. To avoid this break, for clients who have a lot of material to work on I offer 90 minute sessions.

Longer sessions, of 2 or 3 hours are mainly used for creative work and ecotherapy. Please ask for details.

Of course, I am happy to explore longer sessions for any issues or life events with you if you wish.
