Email & Text Counselling

One-to-one email & text counselling has a number of benefits: you have the same privacy, security, and confidentiality that you would enjoy if you were in the same room as the counsellor, but without the inconvenience and loss of time from having to leave your home or office.
WhatsApp, Signal, email & text counselling is a good option if you have limited time, or no transport, or if your physical or emotional health makes it impractical to travel to the office here.
Another advantage of email & text is that you can write, and revise, and review, what you have written until it says what you want to say, and in the way that you want to say it, before you press Send. It offers a more considered approach and a slower pace for our conversations, and some clients want that.
If you decide that you would like to use email & text counselling, I will send you some information on how the service works, and copies of the counselling contract and consent form for you to review. We would go through these together in our first session, and you would have the opportunity to ask any questions and discuss any concerns. Then all you have to do is email or text your agreement and we can begin.
I have a Certificate in Online & Telephone Counselling, and, as part of my duty of care towards you, I will advise you on the things that you need to consider before beginning email & text counselling sessions. We just need to plan for things like you having a quiet space, how frequently we would exchange messages, how we might handle any interruptions at your end, and what to do if the technology breaks down – because things do sometimes go wrong with tech…
